Materia Confusa's fourth release on Webbed Hand is a pair of musique concrete compositions built around some intriguingly deep concepts.

"The title track, Axis Mundi, revolves literally around the idea of its namesake. The sound of a Jacobs Ladder creates the core central rhythm which is yet another incarnation of the theme. An attempt at representing both ascending, and descending, movement around the cosmic axis.
The second track, Strange Loop, is patterned after the ideas set forth in the book Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid around the concept of a "Strange Loop". Specifically in relation to recursion, the fugue compositional technique, and Johann Sebastian Bach." -- the artist.
